Naturally, for a productive workplace culture, core values for your organization are important.
You have to determine your ethics and values, and how to enhance your teamwork. It requires a bevy of strategic planning sessions.
It’s one thing to create your company’s core values and mission. But it’s another to effectively communicate them and to embed them in your culture.
In essence, if employees aren’t aware of core values, it’s because of poor communication.
Plus, missteps create additional obstacles externally and internally.
An example of external missteps can be as simple as negative public relations from ill-advised tweet that hurts the brand and affects your employees.
Internal missteps can result from problematic emails to employees.
There are five key-communication steps to take:
- Lead by example.
- Develop employee knowledge.
- Align your business practices with your core values and workplace culture.
- Actively engage employees.
- Be mindful of the differences in your five employee generations.
